The Backporch Book Club’s First Gathering: Cozy Connections & A Perfect Porch Read
There’s something special about a crisp evening, a good book, and great company — and that’s exactly how The Backporch Book Club began. Our very first meeting was one for the books (pun intended!).

For our inaugural get-together, we read If Something Happens to Me by Alex Finlay, our “Perfect for the Porch Book Pick.” To celebrate the start of this new chapter, each member was welcomed with the most thoughtful touches — all designed to make everyone feel seen, loved, and part of something meaningful.
Each lady received a matching blue sweatsuit embroidered with our club logo — cozy enough for reading nights and cute enough for errands. Inside their custom tote bag, members found a collection of treasures:

Bookmarks, stickers, and a journal with a pen for jotting down thoughts
A blue and white checkered blanket — the perfect porch accessory
The décor was just as charming. Every detail — from the sign to the name cards — was accented with vintage book pages, tying everything together with a touch of literary nostalgia.
A Community of Readers
Beyond the books and the goodies, what made the evening truly special was the community that formed around that porch. Each of us comes from different walks of life, but we share the same desire — connection, conversation, and the comfort of a shared story. Our goal has always been simple: to create a space where everyone feels cherished and inspired by both the books and the friendships that bloom along the way.
